I’ve been a birdwatcher all my life, growing up on a rural farm in Yadkin County, NC. We have a very diverse array of birds here in North Carolina ~ from Cardinals, Bluebirds, Finches, to mention a few. It’s easy to get started bird watching. You can start with a simple Bluebird box or a more elaborate box for the Purple Martin, “we offer both”. I would also like to mention a great organization “The National Audubon Society” https://www.audubon.org/ I’ve been a member for years, and greatly enjoy the magazine ~ all the articles are so informative and this type of membership will keep you connected to what is going on in the world of birds. With our changing climate we need to keep plugged-in everywhere we can! I also have kept Honeybees here on the farm for the last 12 years, but that is entirely another topic. I’ll post often, stop by the farm, online. We will be around.
